Jamui: A shocking case of superstition has come to light in Mangobandar village of Jamui district, where a person died due to snake bite. But his family took him to the temple and started worshipping. The relatives and villagers of the deceased kept praying for several hours in the hope of bringing him back to life, but in the end when nothing happened, they had to return disappointed. But before this, the game of superstition continued for hours in the temple premises. The family members bathed him with water from the well located in the temple, made him lie down in the temple, folded hands, rang the bell and sang songs. When the deceased did not come alive even after this high voltage drama continued for several hours, the temple priest asked them to leave from there.

The snake bit him while giving money to the snake
Rajesh Vishwakarma, 45, of Mangobandar village in Khaira block area of Jamui district, was bitten by a snake charmer. The incident happened when the snake charmer was showing the snake and Rajesh put money in the snake’s basket. During this the snake bit him. When Rajesh asked, the snake charmer went away telling him that the snake was not poisonous because he had removed its poisonous teeth. Two hours after the snake charmer left, Rajesh’s condition started deteriorating. After this the family members started taking him to the hospital, but he died while being taken to the hospital.

Reached the temple after consultation in the hospital
It is said that after Rajesh’s death, someone advised the family to take him to Ghanshyam Baba’s temple, where he could be brought back alive. After this, the family members of the deceased reached the temple with the dead body of Rajesh. Temple priest Shravan Kumar Pandey said, “Around 7 pm the family brought the body and requested to revive him. “People bathed him with well water, then laid him down in the temple, rang the bell and prayed.” This puja continued for several hours, but when there was no movement from the deceased, the priest asked everyone to leave from there. Priest Shravan Kumar Pandey said that people were continuously praying to God with folded hands. But I explained to them that such a thing could not happen and advised them to take the body away. This matter remains a topic of discussion in the district.
